Mentions of robotics increased by a CAGR of 38% in the power industry since 2020

The global power industry experienced a 38% rise in compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in company filings mentions of robotics since 2020. Key companies in terms of mentions include Maytronics, ABB India, and Endesa, according to GlobalData’s analysis of over 800 power company filings.
Notably, since 2020, robotics was the most referenced theme in terms of mentions, ahead of artificial intelligence, internet of things and digitalisation, according to GlobalData's Company Filings database. Mentions related to robotics increased by 66% year-on-year in 2021 and decreased by 28% year-on-year in 2022.
Top five companies by mentions of robotics in the global power industry since 2020
Of the 50 leading companies in the power industry, AES Brasil Energia had the highest year-on-year increase in references to robotics in 2022. GlobalData identified 31 robotics related sentences in the company's filings in 2022, 5% of all sentences. Meanwhile, Adani Transmission had the highest year-on-year increase in references for robotics in 2021. GlobalData identified 18 robotics related sentences in the company's filings in 2021, 3% of all sentences.
