October/November, Viking Wind is supplying the town Sisimiut, Greenland with a wind turbine, which will be a part of a pilot project to test the stamina of the wind turbine under extreme weather conditions, as occurring in the artic area.
The Greenland project is development of “Off grid” projects for the future (further reading here). The Wind turbine will produce energy to a unit independent of an established electrical grid. It gives the opportunity to produce electricity in isolated areas with sparse electricity, without dependency on fossil fuel. That offers secluded areas to be self-sufficient and not depending solely on more pollutant energy sources. The bonus is more sustainability and less pollution and will bring endless new possibilities for rural areas.
The second project is on a small Danish island with Vejrø Resort as contractor. According to the schedule the Viking Wind turbine is to be erected October 2018.
Vejrø Resort offers island holidays in beautiful surroundings. The Wind turbine will help fulfilling their mission of sustainability in the energy field while accentuating aesthesia and minimize the interference with the surroundings.
The turbine will, combined with diesel, sun energy and battery Stored (and reduced use of fossil fuel) supply the resort with clean energy and be a major contributor in minimizing use of fossil fuel in the resort. (further reading here)
