Hitachi and partners to advance SMR tech deployment
GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has partnered with Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Synthos Green Energy (SGE), and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to advance the global deployment of its BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR).
Under the agreement, TVA, OPG and SGE will invest in the development of a standard design for BWRX-300, as well as key components such as reactor pressure vessel and internals.
GreenIT and CIP to develop 2GW floating offshore wind farms in Italy
Italian renewable energy firm GreenIT and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have signed an agreement to develop free floating offshore wind projects with a net capacity of 2GW. GreenIT is a joint venture between Plenitude and CDP Equity, andthe venture's poposed floating offshore wind farms will be located nearly 30km off the Italian coasts of Latium and Sardinia.
BluEarth acquires 1GW solar and wind projects in US
BluEarth Renewables US has acquired approximately 1GW of renewable energy assets from Ozone Renewables in the US. Financial details of the deal have not been divulged, but the development portfolio is sizable, including seven wind and solar projects located in the states of Washington, Oregon, Ohio and Oklahoma. Once construction work begins, the acquired assets will be built under a development services agreement with Pivot Power Management.
Spearmint Energy acquires 900MW BESS portfolio in US
Spearmint Energy has announced the acquisition of a 900MW battery energy storage solutions asset portfolio, known as Nomadic, in the US state of Texas. It consists of three projects located in the counties of Cooke, Galveston and Brazoria, with a target capacity of 300MW each. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
