Power plant tenders down 53% in August 2022

Power plant tenders in August 2022 saw 28 tenders announced, marking a drop of 53% over the last 12-month average of 60.

Comparing tenders activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 13 tenders and a share of 46.4% during August 2022, followed by Middle East and Africa with 11 tenders and a 39.3% share and South and Central America with four tenders and a 14.3% share. 

Among the technologies, hydro accounted for 20 tenders with a 71.4% share, followed by nuclear with four tenders and a 14.3% share and solar with three tenders and a 10.7% share.

The top issuer of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved was ZESCO (Zambia) with 100MW from two tenders.
