The Morocco-UK power project aims to supply low-cost wind and solar power from Morocco to the UK. The combined facility will generate 10.5GW of energy, of which 3.6GW will be transmitted to the UK, meeting up to 8% of its electricity demand.

The NTEC, being developed by Dairyland Power, Basin Electric Power and Minnesota Power, is expected to generate more than 350 jobs and yield approximately $1m in annual local tax benefits. Construction is expected to commence in 2024 and commissioning in 2028.

Estimated Investment: $430m 

Construction of the Mendubim Solar PV project, being developed by Scatec, Hydro Rein and Equinor, commenced in July 2022. The facility began operations in March 2024 and has an annual power generation capacity of 1.2TWh.
