Welcome to the latest issue of Future Power Technology.
In this issue, we examine how the power landscape has evolved one year into Trump's second term, looking into the impact of the administration’s policy shifts on nuclear, renewable and thermal power as well as energy storage. We also dive into how Trump’s license-heavy, tariff-light approach is reshaping the oil and gas sector.
Technology is a key focus for the power sector in 2026. We explore how AI is redefining load forecasting and smart grid management, before turning to hydropower, where AI and robotics are transforming operations. We also explore how operators are utilising new technologies to better manage and monitor facilities during the winter.
Turning to the Southern Hemisphere, we review how Brazil is responding to excess power supply following its renewables boom. Finally, we launch our Women in Power series with a profile of Kine Årdal, Scatec’s Chief Digital Information Officer.
