OSI - Optical Flow Sensors for the Power Industry
Building on original research and more than two decades of product development, Optical Scientific, Inc. leads the world in optoelectronic atmospheric sensors. Our patented approach to measuring velocity has resulted in our OFS 2000 series becoming the air/gas/steam flow monitoring system of choice for industrial applications.
OFS 2000 optical flow sensors measure the passage of air, gas or steam through a light beam. The scintillation variance is detected, analyzed, and velocity calculated. This unique type of measurement (certified by NIST) requires no periodic calibration. Embedded diagnostics and self-test guarantee superior accuracy and reliability. With this non-contacting approach, the sensors are completely isolated from the flow media.
OSI now offers increased measurement capability and communication flexibility:
● Any OFS 2000 model can now be configured to report volumetric or mass flow along with velocity by adding the “E” option including smart temperature and pressure sensor current loop input. This option can be retrofitted to any OFS model, either on-site or in our factory.
● For more communication flexibility, MODBUS RTU networking has been added to standard RS-232 and 4-20 mA outputs. RS-485 and Ethernet communications are available on request.
With a variety of model types, flexibility of installation, and wide range of acceptance, OFS 2000 can easily handle a variety of industrial applications.
Our patented technology and constant attention to meeting customer needs (often in critical processes) makes us the best in the world at what we do. We can do it for you.
