Since 2007, HeliPPE has supplied offshore operators in the wind industry in the North Sea with PPE on rental terms. With offices in Esbjerg, Emden and the newest location in Grimsby, HeliPPE manages 2.000 suits and 2.000 vests at all times as well as 300 harness sets.

“We are strategically located close to our customers and where they need our service. This enables us to offer a fast and efficient delivery”, Mads Enemark Nørgreen says.

Aside from the hassle-free and fast delivery, the low carbon footprint is a growing reason for renting the equipment:

“More and more companies are increasingly focused on the environmental footprint of all aspects of the operation, and in that respect renting is very much the more sustainable solution”, Mads Enemark Nørgreen says:

“Rented equipment reduces the impact on the environment compared to individually owned equipment. If you own you PPE, you are likely to use it for maybe 3-5 months a year at best.

Renting PPE is similar to shared, circular economy: The gear gets used frequently, rather than getting outdated in the warehouse”, he says.
With renting, the equipment stays updated:
“The lifecycle for rented equipment is longer in terms of how much it is used but shorter in terms of years in use. This way we always have the latest, newest equipment available”; Mads Enemark Nørgreen says.

Renting PPE: How it works!

HeliPPE delivers the equipment at the technician’s or offshore wind company’s request anywhere in the North Sea Region – and HeliPPE picks it up again after use. The equipment is fully cleaned and disinfected, licensed and serviced by HeliPPE and ready for the next job.
Leasing PPE is available from 5-60 £ a week.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential to all wind energy companies in order to operate a safe operation offshore.

Managing the PPE, however, is no easy task. In many companies, stocking, packing, checking, servicing, cleaning and re-certifying PPE is a task involving HSE, Warehousing, Logistics and Crewing… with the Financing and Purchasing departments joining in to pay the 4.000 £, a full PPE-set typically sets you back.

Reducing the hassle and the financial burden related to Personal Protective Equipment is what HeliPPE does.

“At HeliPPE, we aim to make PPE as easy as possible”, says Mads Enemark Nørgreen, Sales Director at HeliPPE:

“Everybody needs PPE; but PPE is not core business. It is to us”, he says.

HeliPPE has turned other companies hassle in to a service industry. The purchasing, stocking, track-keeping, servicing, cleaning and re-certifying of suits, lifejackets, harnesses and gliders is at the heart of HeliPPE - as is delivering the required equipment anywhere in the North Sea area when needed.

“Our clients are interested in mint working condition-PPE on site on time. Not in owning it, financing it, servicing it, looking for it or in the logistics getting it from A to B”, Mads Enemark Nørgreen says.

Renting equipment saves customers time and investment. It is also the best solution for the environment.
